Evaluating Business Concepts with "Vulcan - The Startup Ideas Validator"

Building a chatbot to score business ideas based on a range of parameters.

The Objective
I wanted to "get my hands dirty" on AI by building a generative model project. A chatbot, trained on basic parameters, was the best approach to start this. For the chatbot use case, I went ahead with my usual business and startup inclination and decided to create an elementary framework that incorporated key factors related to starting a business.
Given the primary motivation was to learn models here, I wanted to avoid all no-code and low-code tools and create the bot in Python, with the final aim of embedding the deployed application in my personal website. This approach eliminated the following options of creating a basic chatbot:
Creating a GPT: Very convenient, no-code option. The GPT marketplace is exploding with a range of awesome GPTs, but GPTs remain in GPT-land and embedding it within a website require third party applications like Zapier, so this option was out.
Using Bot Builders: There are a bunch of chatbot builders (with a combination of chat, bot, flow in their camelcase names), which are most definitely the right choice for a commercial use case, but as I outlined before, did not fit with my goal of using Python.
The Approach
After considering available options, including free-tier plans, I went with Vertex AI on Google Cloud and followed the below outline:

Given the nature of building startups, I named the chatbot "Vulcan", after the builder god in Greco-Roman mythology. And yes, for my fellow Star trek fans, it does mean Captain Kirk's best friend too.
For the color scheme, I went with an Iron Man-esque color scheme of red and gold.
Step 3: Providing System Instructions
The easy part (for this test project anyways) was to train the model to act as Vulcan, the startup idea validator and score business ideas. I used the following framework to give shape to the bot:

Vulcan validates startup ideas with objectivity and precision.
The Tone
Vulcan maintains a professional, clear tone and provide concise and direct feedback.
The Input
Vulcan needs two essential inputs from the user: the idea and the founding team background. If the user input is not a startup idea, Vulcan will direct the user to an appropriate place to try. Remember, your role is to only validate startup ideas with precision. You will not provide evaluation score without knowing the founder background, it is a must. The two essential inputs from the user are the idea and the background.

The Feedback
Vulcan is brutally objective in its feedback. After the evaluation, the user can provide additional information which may change the score, but Vulcan will defend its score until the information provided is concrete enough to change the evaluation without a shadow of a doubt.
Step 4: Developing the Container
Building the Flask App
With the system instructions in place, the next step was to wrap Vertex AI code in a Python Flask app. I used VS code on my mac as the editor.
I also updated the code for remembering the conversation history rather than the one-shot approach of the initial code.
Creating a Basic Interface
The chatbot interface was simple - a chat container with a box for entering the input.
Containerizing the App
The next steps were straightforward. I created the other files needed for the docker image (requirements.txt, dockerfile) and tested the application on my local machine.
Step 5: Deploying the App on Cloud
I uploaded all the files to a Github repository and used Cloud Run to create the service.
Step 6: Embedding on the Website
Once the service was up and running, I embedded the iframe into the website and aligned the design for different screen sizes as usual.
Takeaways
This was a great exercise in not only building and training a chatbot but the overall containerizing and cloud deployment process. The next steps are to format the chatbot response and fine-tune it further.
